Ombobque Kimono-Abobguay
Social Affairs Columnist
Ombobque writes on society, identity, and the structural injustices embedded in your daily choices. He finds most things problematic and all things instructive.
Ombobque Kimono-Abobguay (She/Her) arrived in Britain in 2004 and immediately identified seventeen systemic failures before clearing customs. She holds a doctorate in Postcolonial Discourse from the University of Warwick and a certificate in Advanced Disappointment from lived experience. Her column, which appears weekly, examines the intersection of power, privilege, and whatever you had for lunch. She has been described by readers as "exhausting," "oddly compelling," and "somehow always right despite everything." Ombobque lives in Hampstead in a house that is, she acknowledges, larger than strictly necessary. She drives a diesel. She is aware of the irony and has written 4,000 words about it. Her memoir, You Are The Problem: A Love Story, is available from all good bookshops and several that are not morally in-line with her beliefs at all. But unfortunately due to publishers cannot remove them.
